Walkerville Urban Masterplan
Council has been involved with the development of the Urban Masterplan since mid 2009. The Urban Masterplan has undergone many variations and transitions based on Council feedback throughout 2009 (at workshops and Council meetings) and based on feedback received from the community as a result of the public consultation process.
Consultation on the Urban Masterplan commenced on 25 November 2009 and concluded on 22 December 2009. An open day was also held on 28 November 2009 where JPE and Wax Design provided a presentation and an overview of the Urban Masterplan to members of the community. Notification of the consultation process was placed in the messenger press and on Councils website inviting people to provide valuable input into the future direction of Walkerville.
After considering all submissions, Council endorsed an amended Urban Masterplan at its meeting held on the 6 April 2010:
"That Council endorse the Urban Master Plan as a primary visionary and strategic document for influencing future planning initiatives as determined and appropriate for the Town of Walkerville and that the Urban Master Plan be reviewed in line with other strategic documents."
