The Town of Walkerville has many green open spaces that offer enjoyment and recreational opportunities to people of all ages. Take advantage of outstanding cycling and walking trails and enjoy the feeling of the “big outdoors” right on your doorstep.  
 
The River Torrens Linear Park forms one of Walkerville Council's boundaries.
BBQ facilities are available in two locations within the Walkerville Council section of Linear Park. Two Wood Fire BBQ's are available on Linear Park at the end of Creswell Court Gilberton. The wood fire BBQ's can not be used during fire season, which usually falls between November and April each year. One electric BBQ with a double hot plate is also available at Willow Bend Reserve, next to Ascot Avenue Vale Park.

Levi Park Caravan Park is located adjacent the River Torrens and is popular for tourists with caravans and tents. Cabins and on-site vans are also available. Vale House has been refurbished offering excellent bed and breakfast accommodation, perfect honeymooners or that quiet weekend away from everything. Recreational facilities available at the Park include an oval, tennis courts and playground. Country, interstate and overseas visitors are always welcome.
