Deputy Mayor appointed

Congratulations to Councillor Liz Trotter, who was appointed Deputy Mayor at last night's Ordinary Council Meeting, which was also the first official meeting of the new Town of Walkerville Elected Body.

Cr Trotter will hold the position until November 2023.

Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?

A: I love a good project and have my welder ready for action.

Q: How long have you lived in the Town of Walkerville?

A: My family have lived in Walkerville since 2013. I remember the day we moved into Margaret Street – our neighbours were all so warm and welcoming; it felt like home from the beginning.

Q: What is your favourite part or place within the Township?

A: Too many to list – the first one that comes to mind would have to be my street, Margaret Street, and the view of the oval. We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful lush Township.

Q: What is your key area of focus while on Council (and what do you hope to achieve as part of this)?

A: I hope to bring the community’s voice to Council so as Councillors, we can strategise the future of Walkerville – by navigating future development without economic impact on the broader community or losing our identity as Walkerville Council, as well as moving forward with bowling club/oval redevelopment at a sensible spend and fit for purpose.

The Deputy Mayor position will be rotated on a 12-month basis.
