The Township:

The Town of Walkerville is a small, dynamic and innovative Council, which serves a community of more than 8,000 residents in the eastern metropolitan region. The residents of the Town of Walkerville are represented by a Mayor and eight Councillors.

The position:

The Town of Walkerville currently has an exciting opportunity for a Planning Officer to join the team. The Planning & Community Safety team is seeking a motivated and energetic person to participate at an intermediate skill level in the legislative, administrative, planning, policy and functional processes necessary to achieve a high quality of development which is appropriate to the urban context and responsive to the interests and needs of the community.

This position would suit a person with two to three years of experience within the development assessment field or a recent graduate with some similar experience. This is an outstanding opportunity for a committed person to join a friendly and energetic team.

Experience/qualifications (desirable):

  • A recognised tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning
  • Police Clearance (ability to obtain)
  • Driver’s licence
