Welcome to our newest citizens!

Town of Walkerville welcomed and sworn in 13 new Australian citizens on Friday, 22 September 2023.

Friends and family supported the new citizens on the day, and a number of official guests attended the event, including Mayor Melissa Jones, Councillor John Zeppel, Aman Kaur and Anthony Vanstone, Town of Walkerville Chief Executive Officer Andrew MacDonald, the Honourable Heidi Girolamo MLC (on behalf of the Honourable Jing Lee MLC), Member for Adelaide Lucy Hood and Member for Torrens Dana Wortley.

The new citizens previously hailed from a number of different countries, including the United Kingdom, India, China, Canada, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

Mayor Melissa Jones congratulated the new citizens at the ceremony and said it was a great honour to confer citizenship on them.
