The Town of Walkerville is the smallest council in metropolitan Adelaide, covering 3.5 square kilometres and home to more than 8,000 residents.
The Township encompasses Walkerville, Gilberton, Medindie and Vale Park, each with its own character and heritage, while sharing a strong sense of community.
Despite its inner-metropolitan setting, Walkerville has retained the village feel that makes it a distinctive place to live, work, visit and play – shaped by its leafy streets, valued heritage, open spaces, local businesses and strong community connections.
The Town of Walkerville is also the only council in metropolitan Adelaide to have retained its ‘Town’ status, reflecting its longstanding identity and history.
Our community is represented by the Mayor of Walkerville and eight Elected Members, who work alongside Council Administration to deliver services, facilities and initiatives for the Township.
