Let’s move TOWards2035 together – our strategic plan for the future
Town of Walkerville has a new 10-year Strategic Plan for the Township - TOWards2035.
Council has been engaging with the community throughout 2024 to seek feedback on where residents see our Township in the next decade. Council ran a series of consultation activities, including local pop-up stalls, a 'post it' pinboard, online surveys and community safety forum, covering the TOWards2035 vision, themes, priority actions, key measures and the proposed draft Strategic Plan. We heard from hundreds of community members and thank you for sharing your thoughts that have helped shaped this Plan.
TOWards2035 focusses on three key areas:
- Environmental Sustainability;
- Safe Places & Spaces; and
- Thriving Community.
Key actions include increasing our tree canopy, achieving a zero corporate carbon footprint, installing CCTV cameras to deter criminal activity, implementing 40km/h speed limits and activating Walkerville Terrace through an outdoor dining activation program for our local businesses.
At the Ordinary Council Meeting of 21 October 2024, Councillors endorsed the TOWards2035 Strategic Plan.
