Levi Oval Precinct Upgrade

Levi Oval Precinct Upgrade

Due to the increasing use of the sporting facilities at Walkerville Oval, particularly driven by the strong growth in female and junior participation, Council will be upgrading facilities at Levi Oval and Vale Street to ensure it is better positioned to meet the changing needs of the community.

The proposed Levi Oval Precinct upgrades will include:

  • New sports lighting for Levi Oval, suitable for junior sports and training sessions. Lighting will include three 25-metre high poles with LED fittings that are specifically designed to minimise light spill to surrounding areas and neighbouring properties. Lighting will be at a lower level of brightness for junior sport and training, compared to the lighting at Walkerville Oval, which is lit for senior sport and match practice;
  • New parallel car parking bays along Vale Street, along with footpath and landscaping works to integrate new parking layout; and
  • Upgrade works to the existing Levi Oval car park (adjoining the existing tennis courts) to increase the overall car parking capacity.

In addition, the Levi Oval playground is due for renewal as part of the 2027/28 Capital Renewal Program.

The detailed design is currently being prepared by Wallbridge Gilbert Aztec, with construction expected to take place in 2027.

Council will be funding $400,000 for the project, with another $400,000 being grant-funded by the South Australian Labor Government, bringing the project's total budget to $800,000.

We acknowledge the support of the Malinauskas Government, which has enabled the delivery of this project
