Walkerville Sports Club
The Walkerville Sports Club will undergo a major renovation to improve the existing building and bring the facilities up to current sporting expectations, under new proposed plans by Council.
On Monday, 27 November 2023, Council held a Special Meeting to make a decision on its major projects. Council Members unanimously supported a renovation for the Walkerville Sports Club building. The renovation will be deferred approximately 12-18 months in order to ensure sufficient time to complete the design work and for the project to become ‘shovel ready’.
Council has been working closely with all involved clubs to ensure stakeholders are on board and supportive of the new plan.

At the Ordinary Meeting of 19 February 2024, Council Members supported the establishment of a Walkerville Sports Club Design Committee to assist in the design direction and scope of the project.
Mayor Melissa Jones and Cr James Williams have been appointed as Council's representatives on the Committee, as well as three representatives from Walkerville Sports Club, one representative from Walkerville Primary School and two community representatives, who were selected through an expression of interest process.
