Council implements $0 application fee for residential parking permits

The Town of Walkerville is implementing a $0 application fee for residential parking permits for the 2024/25 financial year.

Council has made the decision following community feedback in regards to the cost of on-street parking for their properties.

Town of Walkerville will continue to monitor the effectiveness of the Parking Policy and on-street parking over the next financial year.

Council will reevaluate the $0 parking permit fee trial at the end of 2024/25 and make a decision on whether any charges will be applied in future years.

Residents eligible for parking permits under the current Parking Policy are still required to submit an application for the upcoming financial year.

Council is providing a grace period of one month for parking permits, meaning that existing permits will expire on 31 July 2024.

If you have paid your permit fees in advance, Council will be providing a refund of those fees in the first quarter of the new financial year.

If you have any further questions, please contact the Council Customer Services Team on 8342 7100.
