Are you passionate about bringing people together, creating memorable local events and helping shape a more connected, inclusive and vibrant Walkerville?
The Walkerville Community Committee (WCC) is calling for an enthusiastic new Community Member to join them for an exciting year ahead!
From signature celebrations to new community-building programs, 2026 is set to be one of the Committee's biggest and most creative years yet - including the Township’s first-ever outdoor movie night, an expanded Chatty Café series and a range of beloved annual events.
If you love getting involved, working with others and being hands-on in your community, WCC wants to hear from you.
What you’ll be part of
WCC members help bring our community to life by:
- Planning and workshopping programs, events and initiatives that promote social connection, inclusivity and wellbeing.
- Assisting with fundraising projects that support local activities and services.
- Engaging with residents, community groups, local schools and organisations.
- Supporting and hosting Council’s major annual events, as well as new ideas developed by the Committee.
More information on WCC can be found here.
What we’re looking for
WCC is seeking committed, community-minded residents who can bring energy, ideas and follow-through.
To ensure the success of programs and events, Members are expected to:
- Attend all WCC meetings (held at least four times per year).
- Actively participate in planning sessions, workshops and decision-making.
- Be available to assist at all WCC-hosted events, including set-up/pack-down where required.
- Contribute reliably to tasks between meetings (e.g. planning actions, community engagement, event prep).
We value enthusiasm, teamwork, dependability and a genuine desire to make Walkerville stronger and more connected.
What you’ll gain
As a Committee Member, you will:
- Play a meaningful role in shaping community life in Walkerville.
- Work alongside Council Members and fellow community representatives.
- Gain experience in event coordination, engagement and community development.
- Bring your own ideas to life with the support of the Committee and Council staff.
