EcoThreads Fest 2025 a hit!

Town of Walkerville held its second EcoThreads Fest on Saturday, 21 June 2025, which had the Walkerville Town Hall pumping with community spirit and slow-fashion enthusiasm!

There were 36 rack hirers and six stallholders selling their secondhand clothes, jewellery, knick-knacks and bric-a-brac, flowers and more.

On the day, coffee was being brewed by Nest Walkerville, the local Walkerville Uniting Church held a bake sale, and the Rotary Club of Walkerville ran a sausage sizzle. Also, the very talented Courteney Hooper from Neenaw Music provided musical entertainment while people browsed the racks and stalls.

Over $180 was raised for Backpacks 4 SA Kids through the gold coin donation on arrival and, at the end of the day, some rack hirers donated their unwanted clothing to the Zonta Club of Adelaide Inc.

The Zonta Club received over 400 items of donated clothing, which will be provided to women and girls in Adelaide facing hardship.

The event was a great opportunity for the community to come together and grab a bargain, while also combating fast fashion, promoting sustainability and encouraging landfill diversion.

If you are interested in being a rackholder or stallholder in 2026, you can express your interest by sending an email to walkerville@walkerville.sa.gov.au and attention it to the Events Team.
