Community Planting Day 2026

On Saturday, 5 September 2026,  around 50 dedicated volunteers braved the wet weather to help plant close to 3,000 native plants along the River Torrens/ Karrawirra Pari, behind the Levi Caravan Park.

It was great to see so many community members come together to improve biodiversity, enhance the river corridor and contribute to the long-term health of this important natural environment.

A special thank you goes to local volunteer John Rolls, whose successful application for a Green Adelaide Grassroots Grant helped make the project possible. John's commitment and leadership, together with the efforts of our volunteers and partners, have delivered a significant environmental benefit for the Town of Walkerville.
