Don't have a green bin?
Did you know that every eligible household in the Town of Walkerville is entitled to a free green Food and Garden Organics (FOGO) bin, just as you are entitled to a recycling (yellow lid) and general waste (blue lid) bin?
The Town of Walkerville's three-bin kerbside collection system includes:
- Green lid – Food and Garden Organics (FOGO)
- Yellow lid – Recycling
- Blue lid – General Waste (Landfill)
Why use a green bin?
The green bin plays an important role in reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill. By placing these materials in your green bin, they can instead be processed into valuable compost and mulch.
The benefits of using your green bin include:
- Reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill
- Supporting environmental sustainability
- Creating nutrient-rich compost and mulch for gardens and agriculture
- Helping to reduce waste management costs for Council and the community
