Discover what's behind the white picket fence.

Working with the year seven students from St Andrew's School, artist Koruna Schmidt-Mumm developed a series of art installations inspired by the stories behind some of the historical headstones.

The artworks explored the fascinating history of many prominent individuals and families who made their mark on early South Australian society. Through creativity and imagination their stories were brought to life.

The lanterns were a memorial to infants and children - a sad reminder of the high infant mortality rates of the 1850's and 1870's.

Walkerville Council acknowledges the members of the former Walkerville Wesleyan Cemetery Committee for taking part in this project.
