EcoThreads Fest 2024

Town of Walkerville held its inaugural EcoThreads Fest on Saturday, 22 June 2024, which received positive feedback from rack hirers, stallholders and clothes browsers alike.

There were 22 rack hirers and five stall holders with their clothing and goods on display for the community.

Acoustic musical entertainment was provided by artist, Courteney Hooper, as people browsed the racks throughout the day.

The event was a great opportunity for the community to come together, while also educating people about fast fashion and sustainability.

Over $100 was raised for Clean Up Australia and, at the end of the day, some rack hirers donated unwanted clothing to the Zonta Club of Adelaide Torrens, which will be providing the donated clothing to women and girls facing hardship.

There was also a Walkerville Uniting Church cake stall, selling many different cakes, slices and delights, as well as a Melissi Loukoumades & Desserts van in the carpark.

Town of Walkerville plans to run this event next year, so watch this space!
