Walkerville came alive for SALA 2026
Walkerville Terrace came alive for the SALA Walkerville comes alive event!
On Sunday, 30 August 2026, attendees were treated to live music and interactive art displays along Walkerville Terrace.
Travis Cox was there creating a beautiful piece of mosaic art with the community, which will be installed on a Stobie pole in the Township. The Cartoon Guy was busy drawing fun caricatures of attendees. LennieDin was creating gorgeous chalk art on the footpath, and Savia Jane Coelho was making personalised bookmarks using the elegant art of calligraphy.
Attendees were also treated to live music with Lino Cardone entertaining on the piano accordion with his jovial personality. Nicole Hobson played smooth tunes on the saxophone. And the Atlantic Street Band played New Orleans-inspired jazz tunes as they roved the Terrace.
Attendees were able to get involved by getting their face painted, contributing to the mosaic artwork, adding to the pavement chalk art and sitting to have themselves drawn as a caricature.
Local businesses were open and enjoying the added festivities on the Terrace.
And we were spoilt with a beautiful sunny day!
