Join the Walkerville Community Committee

UPDATE: The Expression of Interest (EOI) application process closed at 5pm on Thursday, 21 March 2024.

The Walkerville Community Committee (WCC) is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) for new ‘community members’.

From organising local events to planning fundraising initiatives – residents looking to make a difference in the community by creating a greater sense of inclusivity within the Council area are encouraged to apply to join the Committee.

Members on the Committee will be involved in a range of activities, including:

  • Planning and workshopping programs, events and initiatives focussed on the inclusivity and wellbeing of the Town of Walkerville community.
  • Organising fundraising projects to fund activities and services that benefit people in the Township.
  • Engaging and liaising with residents, community groups, local schools and organisations.

The Committee meets a minimum of four times per year. Events planned for 2024, both run by and involving WCC, include a Town of Walkerville long lunch, Miniature Christmas Pageant and Walkervillage Christmas Fair. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to assist in the organisation of these events, as well as suggest and execute their own ideas. They will also have the opportunity to work closely with Council Members that sit on the Committee – including Mayor Melissa Jones, Deputy Mayor John Zeppel, Councillor Liz Trotter and Councillor Aman Kaur – as well as independent Community Members Jenna Dennison and Rupa Jandu.

The expressions of interest process is open for application to all residents and ratepayers in the Town of Walkerville Council area.

All applications must be received by 5pm on 21 March 2024.
