Town of Walkerville has launched its engagement process for TOWards2035 – the strategic plan for the next 10 years for the Township.

This plan will set the strategic direction of the Town of Walkerville and we want you on board for the journey.

Council wants to work with the community to ensure the plan meets the needs and expectations of the public over the next 10 years.

This plan aims to cover a range of areas, including buildings and reserves, community connectivity and safety, local business, heritage, and so much more.

Town of Walkerville’s consultation process over the coming year will be extensive for this strategic plan. There will be a series of engagement opportunities, covering the TOWards2035 vision, pillars, objectives and the proposed draft strategic plan.

Council invites you to help shape the future of our Township by having your say as we plan for the future.

The community consultation process:

There will be three rounds to the TOWards2035 community consultation process in 2024:

• 1: Developing the vision (from 4 April to 24 April) | OPEN NOW
• 2: Discovering common pillars and outcomes (from 13 May to 3 June)
• 3: Reviewing the Draft TOWards2035 strategic plan (from 22 July to 16 August)

Town of Walkerville will be reaching out prior to each consultation phase to ensure you are across how and when to get involved in the engagement process.

How can you provide feedback?

The first consultation phase will run from 9am on Thursday, 4 April, until 5pm on Wednesday, 24 April 2024 – this round of community consultation will help develop the ‘vision’ for TOWards2035. You can engage in these ways:

• if you are a local trader or landlord, come along to a business forum at Walkerville Town Hall from 6pm-7pm on Monday, 8 April 2024;
• visit our late-night shopping pop-up stall at Walkerville Shopping Centre from 5pm-7pm on Thursday, 11 April 2024;
• attend the community safety forum with SA Police at Walkerville Town Hall at 6pm-7pm on Wednesday, 17 April 2024;
• drop-in to our engagement stall at Walkerville Oval during the first Walkerville Football Club home game from 12pm-3pm on Saturday, 20 April 2024;
• pin your ideas for the future of the community on our 'vision' board in the Civic & Community Centre; or
• have your say online by using the ideas tool on the Your Say website, which is available here.

Consultation is soon to open, so be prepared to engage in the vision of the future for the Township! Council’s friendly staff will be on the ground to assist with the engagement process.

An online engagement tool will be available on Your Say Walkerville from Thursday, 4 April 2024.
