Walkerville Bowling & Community Club

A redevelopment of the Walkerville Bowling & Community Club will be undertaken to replace the current site with a modern and functional building, under new proposed plans by Council.

On Monday, 27 November 2023, Council held a Special Meeting to make a decision on the future of its Major Projects. Council Members unanimously supported a new build for the Walkerville Bowling & Community Club building.

Council is proceeding with a Request for Tender for the new build of the Walkerville Bowling & Community Club, with tenders due on 10 April 2024.

Council is working closely with the Bowling & Community Club to ensure stakeholders are on board and supportive of the new plan.

A detailed report can be found by viewing the 27 November 2023 Special Council Meeting Agenda here. The Minutes are available here.

Further updates will be posted below once available.

Council acknowledges the State Government for the $4 million contribution towards the Walkerville Oval redevelopment as part of the Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program.

Council has now released the Request for Tender (RFT) for the Walkerville Bowling & Community Club redevelopment.

The tender will specifically request changes to the current design in order to bring down the cost, ensure the external plan and materiality of the building will be complementary to the future Sports Club upgrade and importantly, to allow appropriate community consultation on a new proposed design.

The RFT is out from 8am on Thursday, 29 February 2024, until 10am on Wednesday, 10 April 2024.
